What is the FAFSA?

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) determines your eligibility for federal grants, work-study programs, and student loans that can help pay your tuition.

Submitting the FAFSA is free and unlocks the largest source of federal financial aid for your degree or career program. It’s the first and most important step in securing funds to reach your educational goals.

States, colleges, and some private organizations also use your FAFSA data to decide if you qualify for additional scholarships or aid programs.

Need one-on-one help? Submit a Help Ticket and our Financial Aid team will reach out to guide you through your FAFSA.

Important Update

On August 17, 2026, CIU became

Crestmont University

Our students come from across the United States and from more than 40 countries worldwide. As we’ve grown, our name has remained rooted in one state, one geography. The new name reflects what CIU has always truly been:

a university without borders.
