Every service we provide is designed to support your progress and keep you moving confidently toward graduation.

What We Do for You

The Registrar’s Office helps you manage the important steps of your academic journey:

  • Keep your academic records complete and secure
  • Process admissions changes such as extensions, withdrawals, or reinstatements
  • Evaluate transcripts and award eligible transfer credits
  • Build degree plans that reflect the credits you’ve already earned
  • Verify your enrollment for courses and programs when you need documentation
  • Provide official and unofficial transcripts on request
  • Apply academic policies fairly and consistently
  • Assess and confer degrees when requirements are met

Transfer Credit Policies

CIU’s transfer credit evaluation follows the standards of the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) and the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). To award transfer credit, students must provide official transcripts along with supporting documentation such as catalogs, syllabi, and course outlines. Credits are applied only after official transcripts are received from your previous institution. This ensures your degree plan accurately reflects the work you’ve already completed.
