For crime or incident reports, a CIU representative will meet with the reporting individual(s), collect the necessary details, and, if needed, initiate an investigation. When appropriate, victims may also be advised to file an additional report directly with law enforcement.
Be ready to provide a clear description of the incident, including the location and time it occurred. If there are suspects, be prepared to share identifying details such as their physical appearance and clothing (e.g., approximate height and weight, hair color and style, and clothing colors).
