The CIU Men’s Basketball program made history as the Falcons took the court for their first-ever collegiate matchup against GCU. In a competitive and determined performance, the Falcons showed heart, discipline, and composure before ultimately falling 77–58 in their inaugural outing.
“I’m proud of how our players competed and stayed resilient,” said Head Coach Gamal Smalley, reflecting on the team’s milestone performance.
Jonathan Hakim led the Falcons with 11 points, followed by Chase Nelson with 8 and A.J. Robinson adding 7. Despite the final score, the team’s energy and teamwork reflected their commitment and growing potential.
GCU was led by Shay Milsteen with 20 points and Larry Holmes with 12.
Up next, the Falcon Development Team faces Noble University this Friday. The Varsity squad returns to action on Friday, October 24, for another key matchup against California Christian College at the MAP Sports Complex in Garden Grove, CA.
